The
Basilicata, also known as Lucania, is a predominantly hilly and mountainous region offering extremely varied vegetation.
The largest national park of Italy, Pollino, spreading out over Basilicata and Calabria, offers a protected living space
to numerous animals and plants and is ideal for hiking and cycling. The small Lucanian coastal area of the gulf of Policastro
by the Tyrrhenian Sea will enchant you with its fine sandy beaches, clear waters and lonely bays,
where we offer you a family-run hotel. Basilicata is an inside tip for nature lovers.
The region
Calabria,
is the southernmost region of mainland Italy and separated from Sicily by the straight of Messina.
Uniting mountains and the seaside, it will fascinate you with its intact nature, steep coasts, picturesque bays
with fantastic sandy beaches, pretty small coastal towns, its many-faceted hinterland and the legacies of a
millenniums-old civilisation. This is much more than the usual holiday at the seaside.
It's all within easy reach from our holiday houses and apartments in Palmi, Amantea, Belmonte and the Capo Vaticano.
Certainly Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was one of the best-known visitors and lovers of
Campania.
"Knowst thou the land where the lemon trees bloom?" Enjoy the turquoise coloured sea, long sandy beaches,
mysterious grottos, as well as the wonderful hinterland with olive groves, chestnut forests and traditional mountain villages.
The most famous parts of Campania are the Sorrento-peninsula with its prominent Amalfi coast and world-known places like Positano,
Amalfi and Sorrento. Not to forget the island of Ischia and Capri. South of it, the
Nationalpark Cilento
however is a nearly
unknown stretch of land at the Tyrrhenian Sea, abound in culture and history. Just think of the philosophical school of Velia,
the Saracen towers which line the coast and the temples of Paestum. The Parco Nazionale del Cilento e del Vallo di Diano extends
over more than 170,000 ha and permits only sustainable tourism. You will look here in vain for mass tourism, large club structures etc.
In the small coastal towns Ascea, Agropoli, Casal Velino, Marina di Camerota, Paestum-Giungano,
Palinuro, Pisciotta and Vibonati you will
find a suitable holiday accommodation.
The Emilia-Romagna
is located quite far in the north, between Tuscany and Lombardy. The center of the mostly
flat region is traversed by the fertile Po valley, the Apennine Mountains mark the southern border. Emilia-Romagna
is world-famous for its cuisine. Whether balsamic vinegar, Parma ham or Parmesan - here gourmets can enjoy the original
classics of the Italian cuisine. Have it all during a daytrip to the beautiful cities Bologna, Modena or Ravenna,
only to mention some of them. The holiday homes at the foot of the
Apennines are the starting point for the discovery of Emilia-Romagna's best: relaxation, good food and heady cultural treasures.
Latium
is a region in Central Italy that borders Tuscany in the north and Campania in the south. It's in particular
known for its capital, Rome. A thin stretch of coast in the south-west turns into a hilly landscape towards the north.
All over the region there are many sights listed as UNESCO world heritage, especially in Rome. In the Eternal City you
can enjoy life in the metropolis in one of our luxurious holiday apartments. In the 19th century Latium was one of the
big travel destinations and artists of the Romanticism painted its enchanting landscape more often than any other region in Italy.
The romantic charm of the landscape, the abundance of sights, the small towns with their medieval centers and the
long-standing sea resorts are within easy reach from the restored cottages in our programme, in Rome's hinterland.
Sicily,
the largest island in the Mediterranean, situated only few kilometres from the Italian mainland, is also
called the bridge between two worlds. Sicily is ideal for hikers and cyclists. The variety of landscapes
reaches from dried up regions to luxuriant vegetation like orange groves, cypresses, almond trees and palms.
The coast is surrounded by picturesque small seaports and a multiplicity of charming coves. A holiday apartment
in one of the enchanting old towns e.g. Syracuse, or in a holiday home in the hinterland are good ways to enjoy culture,
nature and bathing. Sicily with its provinces Agrigento, Enna, Catania, Messina, Palermo, Siracusa, Ragusa and Trapani,
offers you countless tourist attractions to spend an unforgettable vacation. Further parts of
Sicily are the Lipari and Egadian Islands. You can explore them on a day trip or during a stay in one of our holiday accommodations.
Tuscany
is a region in central Italy. Tuscany is a spot of land everyone is yearning for. Cypress hills,
stone cottages, olive groves - it's all been laid out in the charming landscape to please one's eyes.
But one would do the middle Italian region great injustice but reducing it to its classic rolling hills.
Rugged rocks in the Apuanian Alps, where the white Carrara marble comes from or the forests of the Garfagnana behind them,
that turn into a sea of Red and Gold in autumn, are just few of the lesser known and yet very worth-seeing parts of Tuscany.
Rent a typical Tuscan stone cottage in the cypress hills or a holiday apartment in Florence.
The Uffizi gallery and the perfection of Michelangelo's David will delight you.
Umbria is a central Italian region without coast. Bordering Tuscany, Lazio and the Marches, hilly Umbria heavily recalls Tuscany. Rustic farms, converted into holiday homes convey very well the originality of this area. On the hills and mountains medieval towns full of history sit enthroned. Perugia and Assisi are the most famous ones. But sport and nature lovers, too, get their money's worth when hiking in the Apennines or during activities in and on the large lake Lago di Trasimeno. Even without the sea you will have a refreshing stay in Umbria. No matter if a luxurious modern apartment or a romantic holiday house made of natural stone - many of them have a swimming pool!
We hope you enjoy browsing through our sites.
