Tips
for your sojourn in Southern Italy
Language:
Although many coastal places are living from tourism, it isn't always possible to make conversation in English or in German. Therefore an Italian dictionary should be missing in your luggage.
Medical
supply:
In each bigger place there is a doctor's guard of 24 hours which is also responsible for the medical care of the tourists. Pay attention to the signs "Guardia Medica". Hospitals are in Salerno, Vallo della Lucania and Sapri (please pay attention to the signs "Ospedale").
Pro Loco:
Do you need further information about your resort, possible trips, bicycle rental company etc. please turn to the Pro Loco, the Italian information office, that you'll find in all places.
Business hours
of the shops:
From October to May the supermarkets usually are opened from Monday to Saturday from 8:30 to 13:30 o'clock and from 17:00 to 20:00 o'clock. Fashion shops are opened from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 o'clock. Once in the week the shops are closed in the afternoon.
