South of Rome there is the partial still unknown region. The national park Cilento is a landscape at the Tyrrheni sea, richly at culture and history, one thinks there of the philosopher's school in Velia, the towers of Sarazenen, which lines the coast, the temples of Paestum. Il parco nationale del Cilento e del Vallo di Diano extends about more than 200,000 ha and permits only a gentle tourism. You will look in vain here for mass tourism, large club structures etc.. From the middle of September to June you will find nearly deserted beaches, where at the most some inhabitants enjoy a bath; only in August, if nearly  all Italy has vacation, this places will be reached also by the Italian guests. The coast of Campania is simply fantastic. Not without reason the coast of Amalfi is called one of the most beautiful coasts of the world. Many small coastal places, invite for staying. Here you find mysterious grottos, lonely bays and beaches, which are to be reached partly only by boat, small Piazzas, where the inhabitants meet. Not to forget the marvelous South Italian cuisine, like the  Pizza Napoli, or other courts with Mozzarella and olive oil, and Pasta to each opportunity, in addition a domestic red wine. 

A boat excursion along the coast with inspection of many mysterious grottos should belong to every vacation. You can dive, have a bath, do a walking-tour on many ways in the hinterland or along the coast . Who would like to educate further culturally can choose between Pompeji,  Paestum , Velia and Convento S. Lorenzo . Also the Vesuv is not far away and can be visited the whole year.
